Leading the product design team discipline of 11 designers soon to be 15 with support from other leads and principal designers. Focusing on improving ways of working, structure, processes and UX maturity. Ensuring we are aligning to the business objectives. Line managing 3 direct and 2 indirect reports.

I'm also a product design lead within the Identity and Servicing multi-disciplinary squad of product design, content design, design system and research. Working on onboarding such as login and registration and email journeys.

Contractor Interaction designer for the Colleague Channels Platform, working within the Appointment Booking team. I also collaborated with the Fraud Triage team on improving the Fraud journey for the business which won Best Mobile Initiative for Consumers at the Banking Tech Awards.

 

I worked alongside service designers, PO's, engineering, BA's and copywriter's within an agile methodology

Managing the UX for the European sector and the Finance & Payments product team for BCA web. This includes consulting product squads on implementing/improving UX design processes and mentoring three UX designers. Collaborating with my UX team on design consistency and accessibility within our design system.

 

Mentoring designers through co-coaching techniques through the coaching programme I have set up for the UX team, where I aid with personal development and design thinking mentality. I am collaborating with design ops on team initiatives such as progression and behaviour frameworks.

Industries:
I have ten years of UX experience from various sectors in B2B & B2C such as fashion, beauty, sports, confectionery, hospitality, fintech, healthcare and automotive.

Products:
Designed for web (Quality street), app (Fraud at Lloyd’s), internal tooling (Apt booking at Lloyd’s), Saas self-serving products (Ingenuity Lite at THG), blogs and print.

Companies:
I have worked at a start-up, fashion houses, large private companies, corporate businesses and for clients. Most recently I have been working as a contractor at Lloyd’s banking group.

Research:
I am UX certified from the UX Design institute founded by Colman Walsh, who then trained me to be a usability facilitator. I have run a usability lab for under a year, facilitating over a hundred moderated user tests. I have conducted moderated and unmoderated tests on usertesting.com and Userzoom.

Squad lead:
I am driven to ensure my product squad has a thoroughly planned roadmap and strategic vision. I have ran design sprints within my squad. I am interested in processes and methodologies such as Design Thinking, Lean & Agile. I have line management skills and have led a team of four designers within a product squad giving support and delegating work.

Discipline:
I have led team/discipline operational development such as progression frameworks, team retros, team structure, team charters and vision.

Line management & mentoring:
I have line-managed direct and indirect reports focusing on their personal development and overall support. I enjoy coaching and mentoring designers to their full potential and in my personal time I mentor on ADPList
